How fast did that first year fly by? It is crazy how quickly babies move through the different stages and suddenly, before you know it, they are one year old! I’m sure you’re asking yourself ‘how did that happen?!’
Reaching the end of that first year is such a great time in your child’s life, they are getting to be a little person with a big personality. That’s what makes these sessions so much fun to capture because they show your little one in their element – allowed to get dirty while playing with food. At this age they still give natural smiles rather than those cheesy, fake grins that are coming all too soon and have that marvelous curiosity that makes for some amazing photos.
One year old sessions can be customized to a theme – a certain color combination, your baby’s favorite book or character, their nursery theme, your interests or theirs, it can be anything you like.
So how exactly does a cake smash and splash session work?
We start out with your baby in a special outfit to showcase the gorgeous background and theme, then we let them dig into their very own smash cake, letting them make as much mess as they want to, and finally, they can have a splash in the tub to wash off some of that frosting! That tub time is guaranteed to get smiles.
If your baby doesn’t like cake (or you prefer not to give it to them yet) we can do any other kind of food session that they do like, especially if it’s messy! Prefer not to do food, how about some finger painting fun?! Whatever you choose let’s create some amazing, beautiful portraits to share with your child as s/he grows up.
