As many of you know, I am a Brit living in Florida. My family is extremely close, so I am fortunate to have my parents live about 15 minutes away. Unfortunately, my brother still lives in England. For the most part we get to see each other once a year or every 18 months. Thanks to covid, we were not able to see each other in 3 years and during that time his girlfriend gave birth to my nephew in 2020. I had hoped to be able to go over and meet him shortly after he was born but the restrictions were still being enforced so I wasn’t able to go.
Mike, Rachel, and Blake were finally able to come over in March and so I got to meet him for the first time at 16 months old. While they were here, Mike proposed to Rachel on Boca Grande beach, so I get a new sister! I loved every second we had together and miss them all now that they have gone back.
While they were here, we HAD to get some photos!!! Mum, Rachel and I got our hair and makeup done while the guys amused Blake. He wasn’t too keen on having his photos taken because he didn’t want to stop playing so we had to crack out the bubbles, noisemakers and even Coco Melon. There were definitely some groupings I wish I had been able to get such as my boys with Blake and my parents with all 3 boys but we were working on a tight schedule to get everything done. The good news is that they are hoping to come back in the winter so we can try again then!
For the larger group portrait, I had to get everyone in place, make sure all of my equipment was good to go and then jump in with the group and use a remote to trigger my camera. To make the final image there are actually three images put together. One is the main image and the other two were used for head swaps to make sure everyone is looking at the camera – got to love these tricks of the trade!
