Bruce originally reached out to me inquiring about one photo. He mentioned that he had a 25 year old –portrait of himself that his wife loved and he wanted to have it recreated for her as surprise. During our initial conversation I asked him if maybe his wife would like to join him for a session and he mentioned that they had not had professional photos taken together. He wanted to think about it and he reached out again the next day to say that he had spoken to her about a session and they wanted to do it.
When I went to their home for their styling consultation, I was able to see the portrait in person and I asked if maybe he had a favorite photo of Lynn that he would like recreated. He said he didn’t, but Lynn found another photo that they had had taken by a friend on a beach in Jamaica. She said she still had the dress and asked if we could take a similar photo.
On the day of their session, while Lynn was having her hair and makeup done I started working with Bruce. We made sure to get the portrait that he wanted recreated taken first and then we played with some different poses. When Lynn was ready we took some individual photos of her and lots of different poses of them together. They told me that Lynn had modeled when she was younger so it was fun to see her in action.
I’m so glad Bruce decided to tell Lynn about his idea and that they decided to have a session.
